Friday Freak Out: Things to Buy Edition

We haven’t been watching TV and that has made for a (relatively) peaceful home. I know that sounds crazy and unattainable, but it’s not and you should totally try it! Trust me, it’s doable and, more importantly, it’s worth it.
I’ve been waking up at 5 AM to get my prayer time in and it’s made a huge difference. Sure, every morning when my alarm goes off I think to myself, “Do I really need to wake up just to pray? Can’t I fit it in my day somewhere and sleep in?” The truth is, and you know this, that if I don’t make time to pray then the time will not present itself. Waking up isn’t fun, but I brew my coffee and spend an hour with the Lord. It’s good for my mama soul to get a running start on the day. It may be the only time I have all day to “myself” and moms need that!
I found this nail polish I bought a long time ago. I wanted something clear because I kept finding my red nail polish was chipping onto Maria’s face. This stuff works! My nails are so long and strong–and generally my nails take forever to grow (and then eventually break).
I’m reading this book. Well, technically I am re-reading it. I just finished it and started through it again. It’s a cheap book and an easy read and I’ve heard from many people that it’s changed their lives for the better.
Do you have kids? Yes? Ok, then you need a sound machine. I just want to allow a moment of silence for our sound machine. (Pause reverently for the sound machine.) Y’all, I think this is why the little people who live in my house sleep! If you are a new mom (or even a seasoned mom) and you don’t have one: get one. I like the one we have because you can either set it to turn off after a certain amount of time or set it to stay on until you turn it off (which is how we use it).
